On June 28, 2026, our lives were changed forever when Mareon Prather was tragically taken from us due to an act of gun violence. In an instant, a son, brother, friend, and most importantly, a devoted father was stolen from the people who loved him most.

Mareon leaves behind his young son, Josiah, who is now facing a future without his dad. No child should ever have to experience this kind of heartbreak, and no family should have to navigate such unimaginable loss.

As Mareon's family grieves, his mother has stepped in to care for Josiah full-time during this incredibly difficult time. She is doing everything she can to provide him with love, stability, and comfort while helping him begin to understand a reality that no child should ever have to face. Charlotte is also preparing Josiah for the upcoming school year and helping him adjust to life without his father.

To be there for her grandson and honor her son, she will need to take several weeks away from work. Unfortunately, this time away will place a significant financial strain on the family during an already devastating period.
