Hi my name is Madison,

I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but when you love someone and they’re hurting, you do whatever it takes.

My aunt is disabled and unable to work. She lives off disability and food assistance, which barely covers the basics if that. She has no partner, no children, no safety net. No one checking in on her. No one to help when things get hard.

When I realized just how alone she was, I came to Dallas to be with her for a few weeks I couldn’t stand the thought of her struggling in silence. But the truth is, I’m struggling too. I’m doing everything I can, but I don’t have the means to fully support us both, and watching someone you love go without is heartbreaking.

My aunt didn’t choose this life. She didn’t choose to be disabled. She didn’t choose to be alone. And she’s never been the type to ask for help, even when she desperately needs it. But right now, help is the difference between barely surviving and having some dignity and peace.

This fundraiser is to help with basic necessities, housing costs, utilities, food, transportation, and everyday expenses that disability simply doesn’t cover. Nothing extra. Nothing fancy. Just help so she doesn’t have to constantly worry about how she’ll make it through another month.
