Lourdes is a hardworking housekeeper that supports a hospital unit caring for organ donors. She showed up to work one morning in early February, an hour after ICE had detained her husband, Anjel, in their apartment building in front of their three kids. Despite this experience, Lourdes still came to work - a testament to her character.

After Anjel's detainment, Lourdes retained a lawyer who provided false hope and false documents that Anjel would be released on bond. Unfortunately, this was a scam, and the lawyer stole $11,000 of her hard-earned money.

Anjel has now been deported to Mexico, and Lourdes is left alone to provide a good and stable life for their family here in Minnesota.
