My name is Maegan, I am the mother of this child’s best friend. I am not including photos as this child in need as she is a minor. So I have included a photo of our beautiful Northern New Mexico landscape.
Help a 14-Year-Old Stay Strong Through the Hardest Season of Her Life
Our community is coming together for an incredible 14-year-old girl who is facing something no child should ever have to endure. Her primary parent has been in critical care for over a month, and doctors have now shared the heartbreaking news that they likely have only a week left to live.
While sitting beside hospital beds, living in waiting rooms, and carrying unimaginable emotional weight, this young freshman has continued to show extraordinary strength. Through it all, she has maintained her GPA and stayed committed to her education — a testament to her resilience, determination, and character.
But the reality at home is becoming overwhelming. With her parent hospitalized and unable to work, the house payment has fallen behind. Phones have been turned off. Daily living expenses are no longer covered. The basic stability every child deserves is slipping away at the very moment she needs it most.
As she navigates the end months of her freshman year — while preparing to say goodbye to her primary parent — we are asking for any and all help to give her a chance at some sense of normalcy. Funds raised will go toward:
- Keeping a roof over her head
- Restoring phone service so she can stay connected to family and support
- Covering groceries and daily living expenses
- Providing stability during this critical transition
This is a child who is doing everything right, even as her world feels like it’s falling apart. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
It takes a village. Let’s be that village.
Please consider donating whatever you can and sharing this page with others. Together, we can help ensure she has the support, security, and opportunity to succeed — even in the face of unimaginable loss.
Let’s come together to help this child not just survive this season, but continue to thrive beyond it.
