Help Us Support Our Grandma’s Recovery After a Stroke

Our beloved grandma has always been the pillar of our family, the one who made us feel safe, cared for, and loved beyond measure. She has spent her life giving to others, whether through her warm meals, wise advice, or her endless kindness. Her deep faith in God has carried her through life’s trials, and now we are leaning on that same faith as she faces the biggest battle of her life.

On September 12th, our grandma suffered a severe stroke. The scans showed that the entire left side of her brain no longer has activity, leaving her with significant challenges ahead. She is currently in the hospital under close care, and our family is doing everything possible to be by her side during this difficult time.

The road ahead is long and uncertain. She will need ongoing medical care, therapies, and support as we navigate what recovery might look like. The medical expenses, along with the costs of travel and caregiving for our family, have become overwhelming.

What makes this even harder is that her children are spread across Colombia, Spain, and Canada. It has been heartbreaking not to all be together during such a critical time, and the cost of international travel only adds to the stress. We want nothing more than to surround our grandma with the love and care she needs, but it will take a village to make that possible.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden so that we can focus on what matters most: giving our grandma the best care and the love she deserves. Funds raised will go directly toward her hospital bills, rehabilitation, and ongoing care needs, as well as helping her children travel to be with her.

Our grandma has always reminded us to “trust in God’s plan,” and we continue to hold on to that faith through this storm. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference. Nuestra Abuela Después de un Derrame Cerebral

Nuestra querida abuela siempre ha sido el pilar de nuestra familia, la que nos hacía sentir seguros, cuidados y amados sin medida. Ha dedicado su vida a dar a los demás, ya sea con sus comidas calientes, sus sabios consejos o su infinita bondad. Su profunda fe en Dios la ha sostenido en las pruebas de la vida, y ahora nosotros nos aferramos a esa misma fe mientras ella enfrenta la batalla más grande de su vida.

El 12 de septiembre, nuestra abuela sufrió un derrame cerebral severo. Los estudios mostraron que todo el lado izquierdo de su cerebro ya no tiene actividad, lo que la deja con enormes desafíos por delante. Actualmente se encuentra en el hospital bajo cuidado constante, y nuestra familia está haciendo todo lo posible por estar a su lado en este momento tan difícil.

El camino por delante es largo e incierto. Ella necesitará atención médica continua, terapias y apoyo mientras navegamos lo que podría ser su recuperación. Los gastos médicos, junto con los costos de viaje y cuidado familiar, se han vuelto abrumadores.

Lo que hace esto aún más difícil es que sus hijos están repartidos entre Colombia, España y Canadá. Ha sido desgarrador no poder estar todos juntos en un momento tan crítico, y el costo de los viajes internacionales solo aumenta la carga. No queremos nada más que rodear a nuestra abuela con el amor y cuidado que necesita, pero será necesaria una comunidad para lograrlo.

Estamos creando este GoFundMe para ayudar a aliviar la carga financiera y poder enfocarnos en lo más importante: brindarle a nuestra abuela el mejor cuidado y el amor que se merece. Los fondos recaudados se destinarán directamente a sus facturas médicas, rehabilitación y necesidades de cuidado continuo, así como a ayudar a que sus hijos puedan viajar para estar con ella.

Nuestra abuela siempre nos ha recordado que debemos “confiar en el plan de Dios,” y seguimos aferrándonos a esa fe en medio de esta tormenta.
