Stand with Vince Brock in His Time of Need
Donation protected
My friend, Vince Brock, has never harmed a soul but if it weren't for his terrible luck, he would have no luck at all. He has struggled financially for most of his life. He is honest, kind, and hardworking. Vince generally has two jobs and struggles to buy groceries, but he pays his bills and carries no debt. He is proud and never complains about his struggles. Over the last 6 months, he has had to deal with health complications that forced him to take several weeks of leave from work. He managed to squeak by. His rent was raised again last month, and he spent another couple of nights in the hospital very recently and now he will be adding Type II Diabetes to his list of health complications (new doctors, co-pays, and grocery lists).
Vince's 59th birthday was last week (June 26). We had storms across the state. A large branch broke off a tree in his apartment building parking lot and landed on his SUV. It was totaled - this is the picture attached. His car insurance won't cover it. His apartment building manager is being less than supportive, but he continues to pursue that. In the meantime, he has no rental car. He has been fortunate enough to have a work colleague pick him up and drop him off (for the moment). His car was just valued at $1,800 for taxes. Even if he can get the landlord to reimburse him for his car, he will not be able to buy another used car for that kind of money. He needs help.
I know that everyone is struggling these days. My hope is that a lot of people helping a little will be enough to help Vince be able to buy another used car. There is never a good time to be without a car, but for him it is more than an inconvenience, he can't miss more work, and he also can't miss his doctor appointments.
Thank you for doing anything that you are able. It will mean the absolute world to Vince.
