Stand with Vernice in Her Healing Journey

Donation protected
I am making this page for all of the people asking how they can help.

On April 18th, 2024, Charlie and Vernice were on their way to North Carolina to our uncle's memorial service. When they reached South Carolina, Vernice was in an accident due to a moving van coming into her lane, which caused a serious crash. She was severely hurt and was transported to Prisma Health Richland Hospital in South Carolina.

At this point, she had to have 3 surgeries. Six ribs were plated, her ankle had screws and pins inserted, and her collar bone and shoulder had to be repaired with pins and screws as well. They had to insert a chest tube to get the inflammation off of her lungs. Then they had to go back and get the part of the glove that the doctor left in her chest.

Needless to say, while she was there, she had the worst care. No one was coming in for hours for her pain medication, even pushing the nurse's button several times didn’t work. They found bugs in the bed as well.

On April 27th, the chest tube was removed and she sat in her chair for the first time since the accident. Vernice is one of the toughest women I know for having gone through some of the horrific things she's had to deal with. If we would have had families staying at that hospital with her 24/7, things would have been a lot worse.

On May 10, 2024, Vernice was finally transported to Lawnwood Rehabilitation Center. On May 24th, 2024, she was released and sent home. She's doing very well, but she has a long road ahead of her with rehabilitation. She is a strong, beautiful woman who is very blessed to have so many support her.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support.
