We are Amigas Unidas and we are on a mission to raise funds for farmworkers impacted by the recent ICE raids.
We are deeply saddened and disturbed by today's immigration enforcement actions that took place across multiple farms and packing facilities in Ventura County.
Farmworkers are the heart of Ventura County's $2 billion agriculture industry. They're not just essential workers - they are our family, neighbors, friends, and an integral part of our community. Their labor fills our tables, and they deserve to be treated with humanity and respect, no matter where we stand politically.
While it's important that those who commit serious crimes are held accountable, what we are witnessing today is something else entirely. Those ICE operations spread fear and chaos across immigrant families who work tirelessly to support our economy. Actions like this are not the answer. They only compound fear, trauma, and injustice. What we need is meaningful immigration reform.
Amigas Unidas stands firmly with farmworker families. In response to recent actions, we launched this fundraiser to provide direct financial aid to help families affected. These resources will help families cover lost wages and cope with the emotional and financial toll caused by recent events.
If you are able, please consider contributing or sharing. We are their voice, and we stand with them.
