Orange Shirt Day: Walk With Us on Our Healing Journey
We are an Indigenous family and intergenerational survivors of residential schools. After enduring harms no family should face, we are now focusing on rebuilding our lives in safety, dignity, and autonomy.
We deserve a strong circle of care , and so do all of us.
Mutual aid is not charity. It is not sympathy, but solidarity. It is the recognition that we cannot rely on the very systems that continue to oppress us. Mutual aid is not about waiting for governments or institutions that demand families justify their struggles or prove their worth. Instead, it is about showing up human to human, restoring agency and offering support with dignity.
We are asking for solidarity funds to support our healing journey: to access wellness resources, cultural supports, and the stability we need to create a safe and thriving path forward.
Your solidarity will directly help us access:
Wellness supports therapy sessions, trauma-informed counseling, and traditional medicines for healing
Cultural care
attend ceremonies, access Elders’ guidance, and reconnecting with our traditions
Safety and stability
safe housing, food security, and transportation for medical and cultural appointments
Family healing
resources that allow us to rebuild together in dignity and autonomy
By donating, you are helping us build the village we all deserve.
