I’m reaching out today with my heart in my hands. I need your help to bring my fiancé home.

On May 27th he was on his way home from work and on his way to get us ice cream that we can have after we have dinner together. I was on the phone with him while he was looking to get ice cream from an open ice cream shop when he got pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol in Tradition, FL for a taillight that was out on his car. I heard the whole thing and it was gut wrenching. From there, ICE was called on him and was then detained. Every day without him feels like a piece of our family is missing. We’re fighting so hard to reunite, but I can’t do this alone.

My fiancé is not a criminal — he is a good, honest, hardworking man who has always put his family and God first. He has always had a stable job, he has always been independent & a true provider for our family. For over 25 years, he has built a life, a family, and roots here in the United States. 

He worked nearly a decade at a gym in Port St. Lucie, serving as General Manager for six of those years. If you ask anyone who knows him, they’ll tell you the same thing: he has a heart of gold. He was the first to give someone a chance when they needed a job. He would stay late to help others, lend an ear when someone needed to talk, and was a friend and mentor to so many. He treated every single person with dignity, compassion, and respect. He is the man who would give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice.

Now, he’s sitting in a detention center, being treated less than human. The conditions are cold and cruel and no one deserves to be spoken to or handled like this. He was sick with a cough that was relentless for weeks. When he would request medicine from a nurse, they would say they would come eventually, and never would. There is mold in the AC vents, hard to breathe in. That is just the surface level of what is going on in there. It is absolutely inhumane and it breaks my heart every single day to know what he’s enduring alone behind those walls.

On top of the heartbreak, he lost the job he was so loyal to for so many years. The job that kept our family afloat. This has also left our family shattered. Now, I am the only one providing for our household and for my 7-year-old son, Adryan. They have developed such a special bond. My fiancé has stepped up and loved him like his own for the past five years. Adryan looks up to him and he misses him terribly, we both do. He is the best partner I could ever ask for. Not only is he an amazing partner, but a son, a brother, a man my son looks up to, and a friend you can count on.

I’m doing everything I can to hold our little family together, but the legal costs to fight for him are more than I can carry on my own. The bond, the immigration lawyer, the processing fees — they add up to more than we could have ever planned for. That’s why I’m here, asking for your help. If you have anything to give, even the smallest donation, it will bring us one step closer to reuniting our family. Your kindness will help pay for the attorney who will fight for him and cover the bond that stands in the way of his freedom while we wait, hope, and pray for the day he comes back home to us.
