Stand with Us: Help Bring Our Mom Home

Hi everyone!

I'm creating this fundraiser on behalf of my mother. My mom was detained by ICE a couple of days ago and is currently held at one of their facilities. This has come as a shock to my family. She is a single mother and is the primary provider of our home. She is a hard-working, caring, honest, and God-fearing woman. She has resided in the United States for more than a decade, and this is the only life she has known since then. She has worked day and night to sustain our family, and I have been her right hand in providing for our home. She is the pillar of our household and a pillar of our church.

I was the one who received the heartbreaking call from my mother when she was being detained. I was at work and left everything behind to be by her side during a life-changing moment for our family. Without her, I'm now responsible for covering all the attorney fees and all the bills for our home since it's just her, my sister, and I at home.

The community has come together, as well as our church, and we have been able to retain an attorney, but this is just the beginning of the long, challenging journey ahead to keep her home with us. The legal fees and everything else associated with this process are beyond our means, and knowing that my mom's freedom depends on getting this money and proceeding with the next step has been a great deal of stress on me, on top of the heartbreak I feel.
