Stand With Us Against Hate – Help Our Family Start Again
Donation protected
On the night of 9 August 2025, our family’s world was shattered. In a terrifying, racially motivated hate crime in Newtownabbey, two of our cars were set on fire, the windows of our home were smashed, and hateful graffiti was sprayed across the property. Inside the house at the time were me, my husband, our two children, and our newborn baby.
We are so grateful to be safe and unharmed, but the emotional and financial impact has been overwhelming. Our children are scared to sleep at night, our home has been violated, and we have lost the essential transportation we depend on to support ourselves and to help others.
My car was my lifeline — I work as a healthcare assistant, supporting vulnerable people in our community every day and they have burn it and I cannot go to my work. My husband is a doctor in training and his car is also burnt.
This was not just an attack on our property — it was an attack on our safety, our dignity, and our ability to serve those who need us.
Now, we urgently need to move to a safer rented home, cover the costs of moving and resettling, replace the vehicles we lost so we can continue our work serving the community, arrange interim transportation, and cover temporary accommodation, food, and everyday essentials until we move into a new house. Most importantly, we need support to help our children recover emotionally from what they have experienced.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to rebuilding our lives and showing our children that love and solidarity will always be stronger than hate.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
