River Valley Shelter for Battered Women & Children has been a lifeline in the Arkansas River Valley since 1984. Each year, we provide safe shelter, food, and 24/7 advocacy for hundreds of survivors escaping domestic violence.

This year, our lifeline is in jeopardy.

Massive federal funding cuts to VOCA and FVPSA, programs that have sustained domestic violence shelters nationwide, mean our shelter is facing an immediate loss of more than half our annual budget. These are not small reductions. Without urgent help, we will be forced to reduce the number of beds, cut staff, and turn away families who need safety tonight.

Even with new grant applications and tireless fundraising, the timing of these cuts is devastating. We refuse to close our doors. Survivors can’t wait.
