In the early morning of December 15, 2025, our community center, a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ families in the San Fernando Valley was broken into and severely damaged. Multiple walls were torn down, and essential equipment was stolen, including iPads, laptops, speakers, microphones, and LED lights, resulting in approximately $8,000 in damages.

This space is more than a building. It is where families find acceptance, where queer and trans youth feel seen and protected, and where our community comes together to heal, learn, and celebrate. The break-in was not only a financial loss, it was a violation of safety and trust in a space created with love, care, and intention.

We are asking our community to stand together with us during this difficult time. Your support will help us replace stolen equipment, repair damaged walls, and restore the safety of our center so we can continue providing programming, education, and support to LGBTQ+ families in the Valley. Most importantly, these funds will go towards helping us increase our security measures.

In the spirit of resilience and collective care, we are still moving forward with our holiday party next Tuesday, December 23rd from 7:00PM to 10:00PM(PST) at the Somos Familia Valle Center in Sun Valley! Given the circumstances, we are pivoting our holiday party into a fundraiser and a reminder that queer joy cannot be taken away from us. Even in moments of harm, we choose to come together, uplift one another, and reclaim our space with love and strength.
