Help Sarah Save Her Home and Dream of Creating a Sanctuary
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sarah. A few years ago, I purchased a beautiful 7-acre property with dreams of leading retreats and building a safe haven where like-minded individuals could come together and create a small, supportive community—especially in these uncertain times.
I moved in with my partner of 7 years, hoping to start a family and nurture this vision. Unfortunately, life took a difficult turn. Two years later, we tragically separated and moved out, renting the home to another couple. Last spring, my tenants decided to leave and, unexpectedly, threatened to sue me, claiming the home was not permitted or up to code.
After contacting the county, I discovered that the previous owner had sold the property to me illegally—without proper inspections and permits. Despite this, it somehow passed home inspections and was sold to me. Now, I find myself in a situation where I cannot rent, sell, or live in the property, even though I am still responsible for the mortgage.
I’ve been involved in a lawsuit for over a year to seek justice and resolve this situation. Throughout this ordeal, I’ve faced immense grief, loss, and heartbreak, yet I’ve kept working to stay afloat—paying both rent and mortgage, all while trying to transition my career. My income has diminished significantly, and I am struggling to hold onto my home and my investment.
My dream remains—to create a sanctuary here, a place of healing and community. But I need help to preserve this land and my home so I can turn that dream into reality.
Please consider supporting me in this fight. Your contribution will help me maintain my home and continue working toward creating a space of peace and connection for others.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
Donations will be used to help maintain the property, prepare the land for future retreats, make improvements, pay for legal fees, support me in paying the mortgage, and so forth.
