Stand with Sandy McLeod in Her Battle

Hello....my name is Tammy Cheever. I am trying desperately to help my sister, Sandy McLeod! She was nearly murdered by her husband six days ago! This is a very URGENT and IMPORTANT cause! He hit her in the face with a toolbox and the beating went on for hours, as he trapped her and she could not get help for hours! He choked her until unconsciousness and when she came to....he did it again! She finally got emergency help that day and he was arrested. He can get out on bail anytime though! I fear for my sister's life as well as her two sons. Her abuser has threatened in the past to harm them as well.

She is currently in the home where her abuser lived with her and even with a restraining order he can get to her! Unfortunately we are struggling financially and she is in dire need of funds to get somewhere safe! One of my goals is to get an alarm system put in place for her safety.

She has seen a surgeon and she has, "multiple," facial fractures! She will need medical care and dental reconstruction. Any amount of money will help her!

My sister has ALWAYS helped in any way she can to others. She has always had an eagerness to please people and a very trusting attitude, with an extremely nurturing heart! This is the reason, I believe she became entangled into this abusive relationship.

The controlling behavior, jealousy, and possessiveness of her abuser has completely isolated, broken, and defeated her! She has endured extreme emotional, mental, and physical abuse by him. The constant brainwashing and manipulation tactics has created the cycle of abuse.

He even has, "tried," to isolate her from her own kids! He is very jealous of them! She is not allowed to talk on the phone, he locks her out of the house, keeps her car keys on his person, and so much more! I am just now learning more bits and pieces of what actually has went on. It's HORRIFYING!

She is going to be facing on going and challenging effects after enduring physical, mental, and emotional abuse! I do believe her reason for staying with him is extremely complex! It has been based on the reality that he will follow thru with the threats he has used to keep her, "trapped." My sister felt that she literally could not escape or protect those she loves due to his threats. Always fearing his actions would become more violent if she attempted to get out of the relationship. Staying due to reduced financial circumstances, the lack of being able to support herself and her kids. He kept the manipulation, intimidation, and fear in her mind daily...hourly.

Despite the issuing of a restraining order, there is little to prevent a released abuser from returning and repeating abuse! (OR WORSE)!!!! He has showed us what he is capable of doing to her already! A lit and loaded cannon ready to explode anytime!

There needs to be some real change, impact, and resources! It takes alot of courage to face your fears and accept where you are, especially when you are facing trauma on a daily basis. But my sister will not be a victim anymore....she is a survivor....her voice counts!

I am asking again....if you can....PLEASE donate any amount for her to get on her feet and be able to get a new start! No amount is too small. And thank you to all for your help!
