Stand with Sandie: Support Alfonso's Care
Donation protected

I have never done a Go Fund Me before. I'm doing this for my husband, Alfonso. He is my Honey Bear. He went into the hospital in November of last year. He is very sick. He has kidney failure and high blood pressure, and Calciphylaxis on his legs. He's not able to walk because of his legs.
While at the hospital, his heart stopped. They performed CPR and were able to revive him. He was in the ICU. When he woke up he didn't know where he was or what happened. He got out of the ICU and they moved him to a room where he stopped breathing again. The room was full of people trying to wake him up and they finally got him to wake up. No CPR was needed that time.
They moved him to a different facility and he seemed to be doing well but it got hard for him. He didn't have any feeling in his legs from the knees down. They said he had Calciphylaxis on his legs. Then he was moved again, further from home to another facility. From there he was sent back to the hospital. So he's been in and out of hospitals.
I had to go back home because I couldn't stay with him in the room he was in. I called him every day and then he called me one last time. I got a call from the facility that he was unresponsive so CPR was done on him.
He's in hospital again. He's awake and opens his eyes but does not respond to anything.
It has been a long 5 months without my best friend. I'm afraid I'm losing him.
We have been together for 46 years, married 41 years. We met in 7th grade. On our first date, we went to the theater and watched Grease! He was a truck driver and was always proud of what he did. I also loved going with him on his long drives! We loved going to breakfast together and date nights were always special. We also loved going to Tejano concerts with family. He is a family man and was the sole provider for our family. Everything he did, he did for me and our family and I love him for it! He really is the most wonderful husband. At moments he would look in my eyes and ask, “How did I get so lucky?” We were both the lucky ones. I loved every moment we spent together.
So I'm asking if you can find it in your hearts to help. Please donate whatever you can. It would be SO appreciated. This will go to help pay Alfonso’s medical bills, bills, gas to get to and from the hospital. And, if the worse happens, to pay for funeral expenses. I want to thank you all in advance.
God Bless,
Sincerely Sandie
Update 04/03/2025:
Alfonso passed away peacefully yesterday, 04/02/2025. He was surrounded by his sons, granddaughter, and his loving wife, Sandie. We appreciate the continued support and are forever grateful to those who are donating to and sharing Alfonso’s story. All funds donated will still be used to pay for medical bills, bills as Alfonso was the sole provider, and funeral costs.
