A mother’s fight. A daughter’s voice. A system failing them both.

This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do as a mother.

My name is Sabrina, and I’ve raised my daughter Samari with love, stability, and safety for 15 years. She is my whole world,and today, she’s hiding out of fear. Why? Because the court is trying to force her to live with a father she’s terrified of.

We’ve been in a custody battle for over a year. I’ve never been on drugs. Never had a DCF case. Never kept her from her dad. He has never been denied visitation. And he has never paid child support, yet somehow, he still got a judge to silence me in court and order my child to be removed from her home.

The judge ignored clear proof of perjury, illegal documents, and even a DCF investigation that confirmed serious concerns. And when my daughter bravely spoke up for herself? They ignored her too.

Now, instead of being protected, she’s running.

Samari is scared for her life,and I am doing everything in my power to fight for her safety. I just retained a new attorney who sees the injustice clearly, but this battle is expensive, and I cannot do it alone.

Samari is 15 years old. An A/B honor roll student, dual-enrolled in college courses. A 13-time All-American, national track champion, and #2 in her city. She just qualified for State and dreams of attending North Carolina A&T for track and nursing.

Behind her achievements is a girl who has already tried living with her father, and ran away out of fear. She screamed. She cried. She held on to the ground while officers pulled her away. No compassion. No consent. Just control.
