Help Donate to the Jared Sakren Dementia Fund

Hello,

I am Julia, Jared Sakren's daughter. Many of you know him as your director, teacher or just friend. My dad has been diagnosed with unspecified dementia and Myoclonis and is currently undergoing testing to find out what type of dementia and how long we have.

Two months ago my dad came down to visit me and the family- it became abundantly clear within just a couple of hours that something was terribly wrong. My father was suffering from severe falls (a broken hip, stitches all over his face, and a black and bruised body), seizures, as well as severe memory loss. Unfortunately, he was able to get away without notice because we were only speaking to him over the phone and he sounded pretty normal but you could tell something was off.  We had all chalked it up to "maybe the medication is really strong for the myoclonis?” — that was not the case.

I called a family meeting to the house and had a private meeting with his personal doctor in California. My dad had taken multiple giant falls while staying with me and we were advised to call the hospital. He was admitted and the rest is history.

He is now in a care home nearby so that my sister, myself and our kids can be with him.

We know that it is a tough time for everybody, but if you feel it in your heart to help donate anything, we would greatly appreciate. it. We welcome prayer as well.

The money will be going towards on going care for my dad including doctor appointments, medication management, his care home costs, and any other costs incurred for his medical and personal care.
