We’re raising money to help Paulina protect her family and find some stability — because she and her kids deserve it. Due to concerns for her safety, we are not sharing Paulina's or her children's faces. The drawings here are done by Paulina and her children.

Paulina is a working class immigrant woman who has endured abuse her entire life. She is a single mother of three children: Cecilia (16), Hazel (12) and Jorge (9). For nearly 20 years, she lived with her ex-partner — the father of her children — in the home they built and paid for together. For years, she has paid for all the children's expenses and withstood humiliation because of who she is — a woman who didn't get to go to school as a child because she had to work, take care of and raise her six siblings. A child.

Now, because Paulina and her ex-partner were never married and only his name is on the deed of the house, he is trying to evict Paulina and the children. Even though it's painful to live in that home, Paulina cannot afford to move out right now because she only makes minimum wage and her children have complicated, acute medical needs.

Over the years, Paulina and her children have endured domestic, physical, and emotional abuse from this man. They currently have an active Order of Protection out of fear for their safety. Despite this, he continues to use his legal power to threaten the little stability they have.

Not only did she suffer abuse by him but she was sexually harassed by someone he brought into their home. To make matters worse, her mother passed away suddenly just after her ex-partner finally left the home. Because her mom lived in another country and Paulina has no support from anyone here, she was not able to travel and say goodbye to her.

Because she is an immigrant woman who doesn't know English, this man thinks that he can get away with this but he doesn't account for the fact that she has determined friends who want to help her get to safety.

After years of hardship, Paulina is finally standing up for herself and her children. But she cannot do this alone. She needs a strong, compassionate lawyer to help her fight for her family’s rights — to secure safe housing, child support, and protection from further harm.

No solo sufrió abuso por parte de él, sino que también fue acosada sexualmente por alguien que él llevó a su casa. Para empeorar las cosas, su madre falleció repentinamente justo después de que su expareja finalmente se fue del hogar. Como su madre vivía en otro país y Paulina no tiene apoyo de nadie aquí, no pudo viajar para despedirse de ella.

Por ser una mujer inmigrante que no sabe inglés, este hombre cree que puede salirse con la suya, pero no cuenta con que ella tiene amistades decididas que quieren ayudarla a alcanzar la seguridad.

Después de años de dificultades, Paulina finalmente está alzando la voz por sí misma y por sus hijos. Pero no puede hacerlo sola. Necesita una abogada o un abogado fuerte y compasivo que la ayude a luchar por los derechos de su familia — asegurar una vivienda segura, manutención infantil y protección contra más daño.
