Hello my name is Katie Witry. I come to you on behalf of my beloved latin community. I’m organizing this campaign in hopes of providing financial stability to the team of a Latina, woman owned & family operated local business that has been servicing the Greater New Orleans area for 30 years.

They have come to the decision that neither the company nor the team can continue to operate safely in the current political climate. This financial support will cover the costs of housing, utilities, food, childcare, and medicine for 6 families, including 12 children. Our goal is to ensure that these families do not become unhoused.

For now, we are aiming to have the costs of three month’s lost wages provided for each of the team members. Out of an abundance of caution, the team has decided to not continue business as usual for the time being & need our help to stay afloat.

They are scared. They are being racially profiled and they do not feel safe navigating their roles and responsibilities at this time.

Your support will ensure that the team members’ individual & family needs can be met while they prioritize their safety.

We are all in this together, and the best way for us to keep these families safe and together is for them to stay sheltered and for us to lend as much financial support as possible.
