Stand with Mo — A Fighter, A Friend, A Man Who Always Shows Up

If you’ve ever met Monair “Mo” Dixon, you know he’s more than just a friend — he’s the kind of person who leaves a mark on your soul.

Mo has a way of showing up for people that makes you feel like you’re the only one in the world that matters in that moment. He listens without judgment. He gives without asking for anything back. He carries other people’s burdens quietly, never letting you see the weight he’s holding. He’s the guy who would give you his last dollar and tell you it’s no big deal.

And now… it’s our turn to show up for him.

The Battle He’s Facing

For the last five years, Mo has been fighting kidney failure, quietly enduring dialysis while waiting for the kidney transplant that could save his life. Through it all, he’s kept his pain private, refusing to let it define him.

Then, earlier this year, everything changed. A severe infection led to osteomyelitis — a dangerous bone infection. Surgery removed the infection, but left Mo paralyzed.

He still has feeling in his arms and legs, and some limited movement, but his life has been turned upside down overnight. What used to be simple — walking across a room, taking a shower, opening a door — now requires planning, assistance, and adaptations.

The Man Behind the Struggle

Mo has spent his life quietly stepping up for others — taking on responsibilities, loving children as his own, and standing strong through heartbreaks that would break most people. No matter the storm, he has always put others first, even in the hardest of times.

Why We’re Raising Funds

Mo’s home needs urgent renovations to make it safe and accessible for his new reality. A generous local contractor has already stepped up to donate time and pull permits — but the list of needs is long:

  • Removing the tub & installing a curbless entry shower
  • Widening doorways & adding ADA-friendly barn/pocket doors
  • Installing an ADA-compliant vanity
  • Adding grab bars and safety features in the bathroom
  • Relocating plumbing for the shower drain
  • General modifications for wheelchair access and mobility

Every dollar raised will go directly to these renovations and essentials for Mo’s recovery and independence.

How You Can Help

  • Donate — No amount is too small.
  • Share — Post this on social media, text it to friends, tell Mo’s story.
  • Volunteer — If you’re local and can help with labor, materials, or professional skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Mo has spent his life being the strong one for everyone else. Let’s be that for him now.

We have the chance to not just change his home — but to show him, Anna, and their family that love, kindness, and community always come back around.

Mo, we love you.
We’ve got you. Always.
