Stand with Mikerline : Pregnant and Detained by ICE

On April 12, our beloved team member and friend Mikerline H. was detained by ICE while trying to leave the United States. She was seeking safety—doing exactly what ICE claims to want: voluntary departure. But instead of letting her go, they took her into custody.

Mikerline is 23 weeks pregnant as of April 30, 2025. She was rushed to the Hospital on April 28, 2025, due to high blood pressure and continuing cramps.

What has happened since is beyond heartbreaking—it is inhumane. She was first held in a Massachusetts ICE facility where she began experiencing cramping and pain. She asked for help. She was told the facility wasn’t equipped for pregnant women—but they didn’t release her. Instead, they put her on a plane to Louisiana, where she remains detained without having been seen by a doctor.

She is in pain. She is scared. She is pregnant and alone, and her basic human rights are being denied.

Mikerline is not just someone we know—she is part of our Nanny’s Kids team. She has given her heart to supporting School for free for children in Haiti, always showing up with love, patience, and deep compassion. She fled her home country to survive. She has no criminal record. She is not a threat—she is a kind, generous woman with a beautiful spirit and an unwavering dedication to helping others.
