My name is Mercedes. I'm 33, mom of two boys (6&9) and a Disabled Veteran. I'm living with and raising my two boys as a single mom for a little over a year now. They are an absolute joy however, there have been challenges at times. The challenge is not my kiddos, the challenge is that we have been left in a financial whirlwind with no support from my husband. With all of our shared financial responsibilities being left solely for me to tend to. I have been doing my best to simply tred water and keep my head up. It's brought me to where I am now and that is unable to maintain at this rate. We have two properties that are facing foreclosure ($13,000 for our farmhouse's to get current) , my truck is facing repossesion or ($1,200 to get current). I can't sell it because my husbands name is on it and we have too much negative equity, and joint debts I've been paying monthly amounting to almost $18,000 still owed. My hope is to not lose our vehicle and not lose our farmhouse, if either farmhouse goes I will also lose my Va home loan benefits which may not be a big deal to some however, I signed the dotted line to earn that benefit so it does mean a lot to me.
