Stand with Lue Yang: Reunite Him with Family

Donation protected
Our family has always lived by one principle: give before you ask.
For decades, Lue and Ann have quietly lived this value — volunteering, leading, and serving without seeking recognition. Today, as so many reach out asking how to help, we humbly open this page on their behalf.

On July 15, 2025, our beloved brother, husband, father, and community leader, Lue Yang, was unexpectedly taken into immigration detention.

Lue’s journey began in a refugee camp in Thailand. In 1979, as an infant, he came to Michigan with his parents, who had fled Laos after standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the United States during the Secret War. He entered legally as a refugee, was granted permanent residency, and built his entire life here.

For over four decades, Michigan has been Lue’s home. He and his wife, Ann, are raising six beautiful children, caring for our 99-year-old grandmother and elderly parents, and strengthening the community through his service as President of the Hmong Family Association of Lansing. Lue has honored veterans, mentored youth, and built bridges across cultures — always leading with compassion.

Known for his unwavering work ethic, Lue spent years in Michigan’s automotive industry, working his way into leadership through dedication and reliability. More recently, he became part of an engineering team. Even with long hours providing for his family, he never stopped giving back — because service is who he is.

His absence has left a void beyond words. Each night, his children cry for their father. Every day, grandma asks for him over and over, her health now affected by the worry. His wife shoulders the weight of holding the family together while carrying his community responsibilities — guiding Hmong families, offering comfort, and keeping his vision alive. As the second oldest brother, Lue has always modeled the importance of family — uplifting his siblings and their children with the same selfless love he shows the community.

Now, as our family faces this painful separation, we ask for your help to bring Lue home.

Your kindness will help with:
• Legal fees for ongoing representation
• Bond costs, if granted
• Travel and lodging to visit Lue in detention
• Essential household needs for his wife, children, and grandmother

Every prayer, every share, and every dollar is a gift of hope. We know times are difficult for many, and we ask only that you give what you feel called to.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by Lue and our family — just as he has always stood by so many of you. Together, we believe we can bring him home.
