Hi community, thanks for taking the time to read this. We are Julianna and Sara and we are helping our dear friend (and dear friend and family member to many) access safe and sustainable housing.

Do you have a warm bed to sleep in tonight? Do you expect to be able to sleep there again tomorrow, next week and probably the next few months and into next year? Everyone should have this!! Housing stability is a life preserver when someone is struggling with things like chronic stress, anxiety, and physical and emotional pain.

As you may know, our friend Louie Tran has been experiencing an urgent housing issue- his housemate and friend has given him notice (she just wants to live on her own again) and after 15 years of living there, he needs to find a new place to stay. Unfortunately, his housing options are extremely limited. Have you seen the cost of rent out there these days? It's absurd and continuing to increase each year! Right now, it's hard to find any housing under $1,000/month.

At the moment, Louie has limited funds for rent (around $300/month) and he is in the (long and frustrating) process of re-submitting for SSI (disability) support, as he can’t work a regular job due to a disability. Part of what keeps Louie healthy is being close to his community, and it is important for him to continue to live near them.

We know that community keeps us safe. We know that community keeps us alive. We hope you’ll join us in supporting a campaign that will serve as a funding bridge and temporary support until Louie’s disability application goes through its process and he can sustain himself permanently.

Funds raised through this campaign will allow Louie to pay for a deposit, rent, electricity, other utilities, and moving expenses. This will allow him to be safely and comfortably housed for several months in an affordable apartment in his home community, with his fur kiddos, and remain close to his support network. This should be an easy campaign to fulfill-whether you have $5, $25, or $100 or more, every amount gets us closer to a home for Louie and his kids. And if you don’t have funds to support Louie, you do have a network of friends and colleagues and we hope you can at least share this campaign- some of our loved ones appreciate being able to support us by helping others we care about.
