For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring my mentee, Lisette, through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. I’ve watched her grow through circumstances no young girl should have to navigate alone, yet she continues to show resilience, kindness, and determination. She is living hope.
Recently, Lisette’s life was turned upside down when her father was detained by ICE while at work, separating him from his family and leaving Lisette and her 4 siblings without their only source of income, overnight.
Now, Lisette and her family are struggling to meet their most basic needs: housing, food, utilities, transportation, and school-related expenses. She did nothing to deserve this fear or instability.
We are strongest when we show up for one another, especially when systems fail the most vulnerable. Standing at the margins means refusing the idea that anyone belongs outside our circle of care, and today, that is where I’m asking you to stand with Lisette and her family, so they know they are not alone.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
- Rent and utilities
- Groceries and basic household needs
- Transportation and school-related expenses
Lisette is bright, hardworking, and deserving of safety and support. Together, we can help ease the burden her family is carrying.
If you’re able to give, thank you.
If you’re not, please consider sharing.
Community is powerful, and right now, Lisette needs hers.
