Hello, my name is Michelle and I’m writing on behalf of my niece Lanise Jones. Lanise is a single mother of three children (and one fur baby). She is a Public Safety Officer at Evanston Endeavor Health Hospital, where she was called to assist with a combative patient. Unfortunately, this would prove to be anything but routine; her partner was shot, and Lanise was injured. With the help of a nurse, she continued to fight due to the patient being armed. If they hadn't stopped him, many others could've been hurt.

Lanise has worked for Endeavor for six years and committed herself to the staff, patients, and visitors. While healing from this traumatic experience hasn't been easy, she is the rock of our family. Even though her work family considers her to be a hero, she is coping with the intensity of this challenging situation.
