Stand with Kelsi's Family During Their Time Of Need

Friends & Family,

As many of you know, our family has been walking through a difficult season with our sweet Randall, and we wanted to give a brief timeline of events, as well as ask for our community's help.

In late October, my dad (Papa) Randall started experiencing excruciating rib and back pain, prompting three different trips to the ER. From those visits, it was presumed that the back pain was caused by atrial fibrillation, or AFIB. Throughout the remainder of November and December, the doctors prescribed him medication to help manage his heart issues until they could perform a cardioversion. However, this did nothing to help manage his rib and back pain.

Randall and my mom, Susie, went to the hospital for his cardioversion on February 19th. The following day, my dad continued to complain of severe pain in his back and suffered another sleepless night before my mom took him back to the ER on the 21st. The doctors ran some tests and scans and diagnosed him with Stage 4 cancer. This obviously has thrown us for a loop and turned our world upside down. In the subsequent two weeks, we have worked with his doctors on a plan for possible treatment going forward, including a biopsy on March 4th. That same day, Randall was admitted to the ICU due to complications with his heart during the biopsy.

In the past 7 days (as of March 11), he has been diagnosed with the flu, emphysema, pneumonia, AFIB, septic shock, and has been placed on a ventilator. He is in critical condition. Susie has stayed with him at the hospital since then, and her two boys have taken shifts to be with her as she navigates this difficult time.

We'd like to thank everyone who has reached out so far, as well as the wonderful staff at Dallas Medical Center for taking such good care of my Papa. As we wade through this new reality, we need your help. Randall has been the sole provider for our family, and with these most recent events, we don't know what the future holds for us. Bills and expenses are stacking up, and we are struggling to make ends meet. Anything helps and is so meaningful to the Kee family.
