Stand with Kehlani's Family

Kehlani has been a fighter from the very second she entered this world, and this world has given her nothing but fight after fight. Kehlani underwent a heart transplant 2 weeks before her first birthday after fighting every day for that year for survival. She’s continued to fight every day since the transplant. We found out 3 months after her transplant that her immune system was attacking her donor heart. Despite her fight and all of the therapies, medications, and chemo treatments, her immune system refused to give up. Her immune system attacked her heart for the better part of a year, and despite everything that was done to protect her, it finally damaged her heart's major artery. There is no solution, no reversal, no fix. Kehlani has been given an estimated time frame of 3-6 months before this heart fails her. When the time comes, her heart team has told us it will be an “acute event,” meaning it will be sudden, quick, and we won’t see it coming.

Kehlani has been nothing but strong, courageous, and optimistic throughout this entire journey. Her strength drives us every day, and as long as she keeps going, so will we.
