Below you will find the Original Go Fund Me that my family launched at the beginning of the most traumatic event that myself and my children could ever experience. Since the onset of this falsely acquired Emergency Temporary Custody Order, I have been almost completely estranged from my children through the toxic interpretation of an order that was never supposed to go past December 5, 2022. 18 months later, (Wednesday, June 24, 2024) we finally have a hearing, where I get to defend myself against the Contempt and Custody modification suits that have been waged against me based on vague, evidenceless accusations of “instability”, and that I moved my children to Montana without the “express consent” (that was not required). I have clear, abundant evidence against all accusations, and more.

My case has been “continued” since December 2022. That means each month, when the Judge is deciding her/his calendar of cases to be heard, that mine was not chosen. When you have an open court case for custody, that gets continued for 18 months, that is 18 different court cases that you have to prepare for. Its 18 days that you are told that you and all of your witnesses need to have off of work and will need to travel to North Carolina, and you will only have one week notice of the calendar. And most importantly, 18 court dates to pay an attorney to prep and attend . Because the family court system is unnavigable for most citizens, including myself, without a high level attorney. It's an unbearable cost for most middle class families, over 30k in this last couple of years to constantly defend myself against allegations, with many cases in the past being dropped altogether in the final hour. Its a ruthless, destructive form of abuse that goes unrecognized and unacknowledged in the court system, because its all “legal.”

The real victims are my children. They did not deserve to be used to garner punitive control over their mother. They did not deserve to be ripped from their Mother and family, and isolated in this 18 months from the people that raised them and loved them since Birth. It was a painful hit that caused real life damage in so many ways, to so many people. I cannot publicly discuss any more details until after the hearing.

Justice is around the corner. Next Wednesday, the 24th, I will finally have my chance in front of a Judge. I have no doubts of my success. And it will be the final $5000 that I have to spend in this heinous case. I am asking for donations as a Mother that is still trying to rebuild her life amidst this tragedy, and for children that will need a lot of extra love and support and therapy for a long time to offset this underserved trauma.

Hi, we are raising money for our sister’s lawyer fees for fighting an ongoing custody battle with her Ex.

In January of 2021, Kali found the strength to leave her partner, who physically and emotionally abused her over the ten years they were in a relationship. Kali sought refuge at a domestic violence shelter, and she was granted a restraining order against her Ex. He lost custody of the children.

Kali escaped North Carolina with her children, Ruby and Rhett , carrying only the necessities she could pack in her car, and came to Georgia to be with family. She was awarded primary placement of the children, but had to concede to joint custody, per North Carolina law. With the support and financial assistance of her family, Kali then put an extraordinary amount of effort into rebuilding her career and life to be the best single parent she could be.

Sadly, Ruby and Rhett’s father showed very little interest in their lives, and only paid child support when it was ordered to be garnished from his wages. Despite his behavior, Kali remained hopeful that they could one day co-parent peacefully for the sake of the children.

Last summer, Kali and her Ex planned a move to Montana. Bozeman, Montana is where Kali and her Ex both lived when they met. It was a location that brought them both happy memories and community. This move would provide an opportunity to co parent without the three-hour commute of their current visitation between Georgia and North Carolina.

He was totally in agreement, and wrote his support and encouragement in text messages and emails. He even helped Kali enroll Rhett and Ruby in school in Bozeman, and provided immunization forms. He told the children he would rent his house in North Carolina and move to Montana as well.

Kali and the kids moved to Montana in August. We all believed that the Ex was finally focused on the best interests of his children. We did not foresee the set-up he was orchestrating, that would destroy Kali and the kids.

Her Ex, along with an attorney in North Carolina, drafted contempt paperwork about Kali leaving Georgia with the children. He lied to his attorney, a judge, and his family, stating the children were in imminent danger. He said Kali was “stealing the children”, and he did not know where they were going. He lied to a Judge and was awarded a temporary emergency custody order from North Carolina.

On September 29th, Kali’s Ex appeared at the elementary school in Bozeman with a police officer and took Ruby and Rhett with him. Kali arrived to pick the kids up after school only to discover they had been taken with no notice to her. Their school had to adhere to the NC court papers and the Officer.

There are no words to describe the trauma this has caused Kali and the children.They cannot comprehend how this situation has happened. Our family’s phone numbers have been blocked by her Ex and we cannot communicate with the children since this happened. We are not able to call, face-time, or see the children at all while they are with their father. Ruby and Rhett have been cut off and isolated from everyone who raised them, since September.

Kali has been sued 7 times now by her Ex for various things that have all been dismissed. He has a pattern now. Our family has now paid over $20,000 in legal fees and the process is far from over. We need your help..
