*Update 8/30*
Juan was transferred from the Aurora ICE facility to one in Louisiana. I need to connect with our lawyer to see what this means for his case.
*Update 8/29*
Thursday I was told that Juan was no longer at the Aurora facility here near Denver. His lawyer and I are trying to locate him. His last known whereabouts were in a facility in Arizona which I have called and they have said he is not there which most likely means he is just being held there for a brief time. He also no longer shows up on the ice.gov/locator website. The possibilities right now are he is being transferred to the facility in Louisiana or he is being deported. Please keep him in your thoughts.
*Update 8/18*
I am so appreciative of the support from everyone ❤️ As we prepare for any possible- these funds will help us continue Juan’s fight for his freedom. The lawyer asked for a continuance in hopes that we get in front a judge that will hear our case for Juan’s bond and to finalize his an application that will help stop his deportation. His next hearing will be on September 2 where we are hoping he is granted bond and to get the date of his final court hearing.
*Update 8/8*
Thank you again for the donations and support! Since the lawyer just got on the case - Juan’s court proceedings was rescheduled and will be on the 18th of August. I’ll have more updates then - I’m still preparing for any possibility but thank you all again!
Juan and I have been together over a year. We keep to ourselves - watching all sort of shows and movies, taking care of our dogs, trying new places to eat, shopping and the occasional outdoor adventure.
Our lives were completely changed when he was taken by immigration on July 21. He is currently being held in the Aurora ICE facility in Colorado with a strong possibility of being deported to Mexico (a country he has not been in since he was 8) and a several year ban from the US. With this possibility, I will be moving out of the country with him. Our hope is not to stay in Mexico but build a life in a country we get to choose. Spain would be the hope as he will have the possibility of dual citizenship.
With this completely transforming our lives in such a quick time, I am raising funds to pay for legal services and fees, and the potential of supporting him in Mexico and settling in a new country.
Any bit will help us figure out what our new lives will look like. I am grateful and thankful for any support.
