Defend the Filmmakers Sued Over Epstein Island

Hi, my name is Blake Messick, and I'm a close friend of Dancerco, Zac Seg, Britain (DepthsOfHistory), and Andrew (SideQuest Drew).

I'm creating this fundraiser on their behalf because right now they are being sued by Little St. James LLC, the company that owns Jeffrey Epstein's former island, over the documentary videos they posted online.

Over the past year, these guys poured an incredible amount of time, energy, and money into investigating and documenting Little Saint James. They spent months filming, editing, traveling, and personally funding this project before ever publishing a single episode. What started as an independent documentary project ultimately reached millions of people around the world.

Now they're facing a lawsuit.

Instead of focusing on future projects, they're now spending their time speaking with attorneys and preparing for a legal battle.

They are not a major media company or backed by a corporation. They are a small group of independent creators who believed this story was important enough to pursue and took on the risk of telling it themselves.

As a result of this lawsuit, they are now facing huge legal expenses that, according to attorneys they have consulted, could potentially reach hundreds of thousands of dollars if this case continues through the full legal process. The goal of this fundraiser is to help cover immediate legal costs and give them the resources they need to properly defend themselves.

For those unfamiliar with their work, their investigation focused on Little Saint James and the many unanswered questions that still surround it. While Jeffrey Epstein is gone, victims and members of the public have spent years asking for greater transparency and access to records connected to the case.

From the beginning, the team's goal wasn't just to document Little Saint James, but also to draw attention to the unanswered questions that still surround the Epstein case. A major part of the project involved staging a peaceful "RELEASE THE FILES" protest because they believe the American people and the victims deserve full transparency.

The project was never about the current owners of Little Saint James. However, many people believe the island remains a matter of public interest because of its history and the unanswered questions that still surround it. The team shared that belief, which is what led them to document it in the first place.

The lawsuit stems from the team's documentary investigation on Little Saint James and allegations regarding their entry onto the property and the publication of the footage they captured there.

The plaintiffs are seeking monetary damages, attorneys' fees, and revenue connected to the project. Defending a civil lawsuit can be incredibly expensive, and the process can continue for months or even years.

In the team's view, this lawsuit raises concerns about whether independent creators can realistically defend themselves against costly litigation brought by organizations with substantially greater resources. Regardless of where someone stands on the issues involved, I believe independent creators should have a fair opportunity to defend themselves in court rather than being overwhelmed by the cost of doing so.

For many people, that principle feels especially important when the subject matter involves one of the most scrutinized and controversial stories of our time.

That's why I'm asking for your help.

Our initial goal is $20,000. These funds will go toward retaining legal counsel, responding to filings, and helping the team navigate the early stages of this case. While legal costs could ultimately become far greater if litigation continues, the team felt it was important to start with the amount needed for the immediate next steps. If litigation continues and costs increase, the team will provide updates and remain transparent about how funds are being used and what additional support may be needed.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps.

And if you're unable to contribute financially, simply sharing this page can make an enormous difference.

For full transparency, if this case is resolved and money remains after legal expenses are paid, the remaining funds will be donated to organizations that combat human trafficking and support survivors.

My hope is that they never need most of this money, and that this situation gets resolved quickly so that any remaining funds can go directly toward helping people who need it.
But right now, they need support.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for sharing it. And thank you to everyone who chooses to contribute.

It means more than you know.
