Hello, my name is Dave Hale.
I’ve been living and working in Kingston, Jamaica for a packaging company for the past 18 months. I was lucky to make it through Hurricane Melissa safely — but many of the people here weren’t.
Homes were destroyed. Entire areas were flooded. Families who already worked incredibly hard to get by are now left with very little.
I’ve seen the damage up close — not through news reports, but with the people I stand next to at work every day. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
I want to provide direct, immediate support to those affected.
Rather than donating to large organizations where it’s hard to know how funds are used, this GoFundMe ensures that 100% of contributions go directly to local families and individuals who need help now. Through my role and the team we are in daily contact with the community — factory workers, neighbors, and their families — and we’ll personally ensure the support gets to them quickly and transparently.
Funds will go toward:
• Rebuilding damaged homes and replacing essential belongings
• Food, clean water, baby supplies, and hygiene products
• Supporting families who have lost income due to the storm
I will share clear updates so donors can see exactly where their support is making a difference.
Even the smallest contribution will directly help someone rebuild.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing with Jamaica as we recover.
