A Plea From Our Family — With Hope and Humility
Even a dollar helps. A share. If everyone could donate a dollar or spare change I can reach my goal.
My name is Jade, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help — but today, I truly do. Over the past year, my family has faced a series of heartbreaking challenges that have brought us to an urgent and deeply painful moment. After investing more than $15,000 in immigration attorney fees, Department of Homeland Security expenses, and multiple legal consultations, we were assured that Salomon, would receive his visa and return home within four to six months so he could resume working and continue supporting our family. We trusted the process. We trusted the professional we hired. And we placed everything we had — financially and emotionally — on that promise. At our final immigration hearing, our world changed in an instant. We discovered that the attorney we relied on was unprepared. Critical evidence and required documents — including essential records such as birth certificates — had never been submitted. Because of this failure, our case was denied. Instead of coming home, Salomon now in Mexico. Salomon has lived in the United States since he was a child. America is the only home he truly knows. He has not seen his family in Mexico since childhood; their relationship has existed only through video calls over the years. The thought of being sent back alone to an unfamiliar environment terrifies him. For his safety, he hopes to remain near the border in a large city where he can feel secure while we fight to correct this situation legally. As his partner and the mother of our children, I cannot abandon him during this frightening time. We are now in Mexico so he will not face this transition alone while we begin the legal process of bringing him back home. This crisis comes while we are already rebuilding our lives after losing our home on January 21, and after exhausting our savings trying to secure his freedom and future. I have filed a formal complaint with the State of Louisiana regarding the attorney’s conduct and requested reimbursement for the funds we paid, but these investigations take time — time we simply do not have. An insurance claim through State Farm is also pending, and although payment is expected, it may take months before funds become available. We urgently need assistance for: * Safe temporary housing in Mexico * Food and basic daily living expenses * Hiring a new immigration attorney to immediately begin petitions * Travel expenses and required documentation for myself and our children Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me. I have always worked hard to remain independent and financially stable. But circumstances beyond our control have left us starting over while fighting to keep our family together. If you are able to donate, share our story, or offer encouragement, it would mean more than words can express. Every act of kindness helps us remain safe, stay together, and continue fighting to bring Salomon home. For anyone who contributes and wishes to be repaid once our insurance funds are released, I am fully willing to honor that commitment. Right now, time is critical, and your compassion could mean the difference between fear and safety for our family. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, for your empathy, and for standing beside us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. With gratitude and hope, Jade and Family
