Stand with Hugh: Fight Unjust HOA Actions

Hi, I'm Hugh Vaughan. I'm retired and living on social security. I live in a community I bought into in 2007, which has a voluntary HOA. Things were fine until about a year ago when a group took control of the HOA, which is really a POA, and rewrote the bylaws and change the covenants to suit themselves. They are destroying a once beautiful community.

They are threatening people with liens, late fees, transfer fees, and whatever else they decide. They do nothing for the betterment of our community.

The roads are full of potholes and washed out. For most of the years I've lived here, I have had to buy a tractor, equipment, and gravel.

I live on social security.

We consulted a lawyer, and they agree everything the group has done is illegal. But as you know, lawyers are expensive, and my neighbors and I simply can't afford to take them to court.

You may have read just this week about an HOA in Atlanta that was sued for the very same reasons as ours. They were sued, and people were awarded $40k. If you could at all help us fight this group of people making up this POA, we would certainly appreciate it. I don't care if it's a dollar; I would still be most appreciative. Thank you.
