Help Herb Fight Felony Charges After Peaceful Protest

Herb served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps and is now a proud member of our local community. Although not a U.S. citizen, Herb holds a green card and has always believed in standing up for what is right. Recently, while attending a peaceful protest at Camp Pendleton while J.D. Vance and Pete Hegseth were visiting, Herb found himself in a minor altercation with some fairly well-known counter-protesters. They arrived in a large class-A RV, and came dangerously close to the group of protesters on the side of the road as they came to a stop.

Police intervened, and Herb was arrested and charged with felony vandalism—an extremely serious charge that carries tough penalties and potentially jeopardizes his future in the United States. Meanwhile, the counter-protesters were allowed to go free, despite yanking Herb's Veterans For Peace flag, tearing it up in the process.

Herb urgently needs to hire an experienced criminal defense lawyer, and because he is a green card holder, he also faces unique immigration risks that require special legal expertise. Legal fees, fines, and restitution in these cases can be overwhelming, especially for someone who has always strived to serve and support others. We are seeking the community’s help to ensure Herb gets a fair chance to defend himself in court and to safeguard his right to remain in the country he calls home, and for which he has risked his life to defend.
