Vida Digna Pa’ Güarix — Recovery, Healing & Medical Support

My name is Güarix Urayoán Agosto Idorwatt (she/her). I am a transfeminine, Afrodescendant Boricua artist, activist, cultural organizer, and founder of Stop LGBTA+ Fobia. Thank you for being part of my journey toward a life of dignity, health, and safety. This campaign started as a way to support my transition, secure safe housing, and build stability after being displaced from home in Puerto Rico. With your help, I was able to take major steps toward healing and survival.

What’s happened so far  I made it to New York City seeking safety and medical care, navigating systems that are often hostile to trans people.

My proposal “Ser trans puertorriqueñe en la diáspora…” was accepted at Creating Change 2026, where I represented my community.

Most importantly — I had my gender-affirming surgery, a life-changing step for my body and well-being.

Why I still need your support Recovery requires ongoing care, and the costs after surgery extend beyond the operating room. Funds raised now will go directly to:

• Medical bills from my surgery and related treatments

• Follow-up appointments, medications, and supplies

• Costs related to healing (transportation, supplies, and rest)

• Basic living expenses while I recover full-time and build stability I’ve adjusted my goal to $15,000 to better reflect this new phase of recovery and continued healing.

Why this matters As a young trans person, navigating gender-affirming care and recovery without systemic support is extremely difficult.

Many trans people turn to crowdfunding because healthcare systems too often fail to cover essential medical needs — especially for care that affirms who we are.

Your support does more than cover bills —  it affirms my right to live safely, authentically, and with dignity. it helps a trans Boricua artist and advocate continue to show up for community.  it makes survival possible in a world that often puts trans lives last.

Thank you for believing in me, for walking with me, and for helping make recovery possible.

With love and gratitude,
Güarix
