Stand with Glen Oaks After Devastating Loss
Donation protected
Dear Friends Family and Community Supporters,
It is with heavy hearts we come to you in a time of urgent need.
Over the past several weeks our beloved church Glen Oaks United Methodist Church in Dallas has experienced a series of heartbreaking events. We are a small faithful congregation and the damage we face is overwhelming.
All eleven of our air conditioning units were stolen in a series of break-ins over a 9 day period. On one occasion thieves removed roof vents to enter the building through the ceiling. They cut through copper and water lines which caused a major flood in the sanctuary, kitchen, fellowship hall, and two storage rooms.
The loss of our air conditioning has not stopped worship and community outreach however, it may impact future community engagements as the summer approaches. This has shaken our community but we are standing in faith and leaning on the promises of God. Our ministries will continue although the environment is uncomfortable.
We were recently featured on Fox 4 News as they shared our story and the pain our church family is enduring. We are doing everything we can but the financial burden is great.
We are humbly asking for your help. No gift is too small. Your support will allow us to begin to take care of any needs. If you cannot give we ask that you please pray for us and share our story with others.
We believe in the power of community and the faithfulness of God even in times like these. With your help we can continue the work we were called to do.
Thank you for standing with us.
With love and gratitude,
Glen Oaks United Methodist Church
Update – August 25, 2025
We want to provide an update and thank everyone again for your continued support. As of today, we are still experiencing delays in the replacement of our 11 HVAC units. Unfortunately, the extreme heat has made it impossible to continue worship and church events in the building, and all in-person gatherings have been cancelled for the time being.
This has placed a real strain on our congregation and community. A few of our vendors have already relocated, and others are also being impacted by the ongoing delays and difficult conditions.
We remain hopeful and committed to restoring our space, but we still need your help. Please continue to support and share our campaign as we work through this challenging season. Every contribution brings us one step closer to reopening our doors.
With gratitude,
