Stand with Fabrizio Against Cancer

UPDATE!! :
I would like to update everyone with what has happened since Fabrizio began his chemotherapy treatments.

It was not easy at all, because everything happened so quickly. Let’s go back to May 2025 at the Tumor Hospital in Milan, Italy. When doctors saw that his Hodgkin’s lymphoma was at Stage III, they had to admit him along with his mother to begin treatment. It was painful for Fabrizio, who couldn’t understand what was happening to him. He cried, resisted, and screamed in pain—to the point that four people had to hold him down to draw blood, and also when they placed the port in his chest to administer the medicine. It was a heartbreaking scene, made even worse by knowing that it would have to happen at least four more times.

Even so, Fabrizio faced it with courage. During each session, he didn’t want to talk to anyone—he barely ate or drank—just waited for the five days to pass so he could go home. As soon as he left the hospital and returned home, he acted as if nothing had happened.

As if all this suffering weren’t enough, he also had to face losing his hair. If going to the hairdresser used to be difficult for him, imagine having to cut it all off because it was already falling out in clumps. His teacher Federica, who loved him very much—and whom Fabrizio loved too—agreed to help convince him. She managed to do so, but at a very high cost: Fabrizio felt betrayed and no longer wanted to see her.

Fabrizio’s strength was remarkable. Despite the high doses of chemotherapy, his hemoglobin never dropped below 9, something his doctor admired. His family, especially his mother, never gave up on giving him all the support and love he needed—patience and maternal care that were essential to help him get through it.

By August, the medical exams showed that all his effort had paid off: the tumors had reduced by almost 90%, leaving only one small node in his neck. In September, he returned to school. We would have liked to be certain that this nightmare was over, but further specialized tests were done, and they still don’t know what the next step will be.

At this point, Fabrizio has changed considerably. On the positive side, he became aware that he must take his medicine on time and continue his medical exams—even though he doesn’t like them, he still does them.

His hair began to grow back, and during his first days of school, Fabrizio had no hesitation in telling his teachers about his situation, in his own words. At home, he started asking his mother deep questions—why he got sick and his brother didn’t, why he has to take medicine and his brother doesn’t, why his hair fell out and his brother’s didn’t. Fabrizio, my baby cousin who just turned 7 years old this September 27, shows incredible bravery and an optimism that anyone would envy.

I want to once again thank everyone who has donated so far — your kindness and generosity mean the world to our family. He still needs our support, and every bit of help makes a difference as he continues this brave fight.

Hi everyone, my name is Grecia M.
I want to share something heartbreaking that my family is currently going through. My little cousin, Fabrizio, was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Hodgkin Lymphoma. He is just 6 years old and is already at Stage 3, which means he will be undergoing intense and prolonged chemotherapy sessions.

A Little About My Baby Cousin:
At the age of 3, Fabrizio was diagnosed with mild autism and has been in therapy ever since, along with his brother Eduardo, who was diagnosed with a more severe form of autism. Despite the challenges, Fabrizio has always been a source of energy and joy. He loves nature, and animals are his passion — from observing insects and lizards to being completely fascinated by large animals like bulls. He never hesitates to show affection to everyone around him.
His current obsession? Dinosaurs. He can talk your ear off with fun facts and passionately tell you about his favorite ones. In fact, my dad lovingly nicknamed him “Fabrosaurio” — a combination of his name and “Dinosaurio” (Spanish for dinosaur).
A few months ago, my aunt noticed a small nodule on the side of his neck and decided to take him to the hospital to find out what was going on. His blood tests came back normal, but doctors decided to perform a biopsy just to be safe. The first results were inconclusive. When repeated, the biopsy revealed what we feared most: Fabrizio had cancer.
What makes his case particularly rare is that it was asymptomatic until the lump appeared. By that time, the cancer had already spread to multiple parts of his body.

How This Has Impacted the Family:
My aunt’s family includes three children, and two of them — including Fabrizio — were diagnosed with autism a few years ago. Because of this, my aunt had previously stepped away from her job to support their therapy and development.
Just as she was preparing to return to work, Fabrizio received his cancer diagnosis. Given the severity of the treatment, my aunt has decided to stay on as his full-time caregiver.
This decision, while absolutely necessary, has taken a serious toll on their finances. Between medical costs, therapies, and basic household bills, they are struggling to make ends meet while raising their three children.

How You Can Help:
This is where I’m stepping in to support my aunt in any way I can. I’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden so she can focus on what truly matters — Fabrizio’s health and recovery. A portion of the funds raised will also go toward remodeling my cousin’s room, creating a proper and comfortable space for him to heal.
Any donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference.
Even if you’re not able to give, a simple share of this campaign could mean everything to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading Fabrizio’s story.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he bravely fights this battle.
Thank you,
Grecia M.

Gracias,
Grecia M.
