UPDATE: Stand with Fabio: Unjustly Detained

Donation protected
UPDATE: Fabio’s family had someone loan them the $5000 release money , so he is home. He still has to repay the loan. ICE claims to have lost his Social Security card, Drivers License, and Work Permit! I don’t believe that for a minute. He now has no way to provide for his family. Please please help. What is going on is criminal. My name is Kristen Pascoe and I am writing on behalf of Fabio Alberto Rodriguez Segura. Fabio, age 63, was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. He came to the United States of America with his family in June 2021. Fabio reported directly to Immigration and Customs to claim political asylum due to repeated attacks on him and his family and multiple threats from Colombian guerrillas. After a period of detainment, asylum was granted. Fabio moved to Sandusky, Ohio, and hired an immigration attorney to begin the process of becoming a legal citizen of the USA.

Once Fabio obtained a work permit and Social Security number, he began working for Bogers Ohio Inc., of Norwalk. After two years, Fabio ventured out on his own and started his own business of having an ice cream truck. He obtained all the necessary permits to work in Sandusky, Huron, Port Clinton, and Norwalk. He sold Toft’s Ice Cream products in support of our local business, and Toft’s proudly advertised their name on his truck.

On May 22, 2025, Fabio picked up his load of ice cream from Toft’s and was soon after stopped by the Sandusky Police Department. No reason was given for being pulled over. The police said he needed to come down to the station with them and he would be brought back to his truck within an hour's time. Fabio explained he was legal, showed all his documentation, and while wanting no trouble, proceeded with their request. While Fabio was at the station, they took his fingerprints, no explanation given, and soon thereafter ICE arrived and took him away to a detention facility.

He was assigned a court hearing for May 27, 2025. The result of that hearing is that no decision has been made and he will be detained until another hearing is set unless he pays a $5000 bond to free himself.

The family is devastated with what is happening, as they have been following all the rules, regulations, and policies set forth by Immigration and now the patriarch of their family is being held, essentially for ransom, while being innocent.

Fabio is an honest, loving, hardworking family man and is in need of our help. Please donate to his cause and bring him the freedom he so rightly has earned.
