Stand with Emily in Her Legal Battle
Donation protected
Emily is one of the strongest and most dedicated mothers I have ever met. Unfortunately, her ex-husband has upended her world when he was arrested for crimes against minors in 2021. To add insult to injury, he has spent tens of thousands of dollars fighting her in court on their divorce every step of the way.
Just when this was all supposed to be over with the occurrence of his criminal trial, he attempted to evade the consequences of his decisions by harming himself.
While this meant the trial was once again delayed, his attorney filed a motion to modify the child support orders based on the assumption that his client was going to be incarcerated after the trial.
Emily’s life has been dictated by this nightmare for 2.5 years, and despite there being no end in sight with the trial being postponed once again, she is now facing the loss of child support and the burden of more time away from work in family court.
Emily has spent tens of thousands of dollars protecting herself and her two precious girls from this monster’s behavior, all while her ex has been able to continue to live a comfortable life practicing dentistry out of state while living with family as though none of this was happening. Before his arrest, he was spending thousands of dollars monthly without Emily’s knowledge, feigning ignorance at why they were still struggling financially despite two solid incomes on paper.
At this point, Emily is tapped out. She still has debt from the original divorce proceedings as she was not awarded anything to cover attorney’s fees. Her father is currently in the ICU battling an aggressive cancer, and she is once again facing the costs of retaining a lawyer in order to protect her daughters from her ex’s abhorrent behavior.
While we can’t solve all of our problems, we CAN lift the burden of the cost of retaining an attorney to fight to protect her girls’ financial future.
