The Situation
My name is Chris. I am a divorced father to four incredible boys, ages 4 to 10. They are my pride, my joy, and my entire world! To provide for them, I work two jobs totaling over 60 hours a week. I spend every weekend and every spare moment being the most active, present father I can be.
Despite my busy schedule and living 35 minutes away, I am there for their first and last days of school, concerts, field trips, and other school events. I have worked tirelessly to give them stability after the divorce, ensuring they stay connected to their community, their friends, and their large extended family.
The Challenge
Recently, I was informed of a plan to move my sons 120 miles away.
While I understand the personal reasons behind this move, my first priority must be the well-being of my sons. This move would uproot them from one of the safest towns and best school systems in the state... the only home they have ever known.
If this move happens, the boys stand to lose:
Vital Support: Weekly visits with both sets of grandparents, cousins, and aunts/uncles who all live within 20 miles.
Mental Health Stability: My older sons already struggle with anxiety; uprooting their lives, losing friends along with established therapy support, would be devastating.
Parental Presence: A 5-hour round trip would force me to reduce my time with them to every other weekend and prevent nearly all my involvement in their schooling.
The boys have explicitly said they do not want to go. They deserve stability, not another major loss.
How You Can Help
Legal experts agree that we have a very strong case to keep the boys in their current environment. However, the process comes with a price tag I simply cannot afford on my own. Every cent I earn goes to child support and providing for my sons.
I am seeking funding to cover the necessary legal costs to keep my children in their community.
A Commitment to All Children
This isn’t just about my family; it’s about doing what is right. I have structured this fund to ensure your generosity helps children in need no matter what:
Immediate Impact: 10% of all donations will go immediately to Rainbows for All Children, a non-profit that provides support for children across the world experiencing grief and loss due to divorce, death, or other crises.
Case Funding: 90% will go toward my legal representation.
The "Safety Net" Promise:
If the legal process winds up in my favor: 50% of remaining funds go to the charity; the other 50% will go to the boys' mother's uncovered legal expenses to ensure she stays financially stable for the kids.
If it does not wind up in my favor: 100% of remaining funds go directly to the charity.
Please Join Us!
My goal is simple: the best interest of my four boys. Whether you can donate $5 or $500, or simply share this page with your network, you are helping me to remain a presence in my sons' childhoods.
Thank you for reading my story. I am beyond grateful for whatever you can give to help my boys and me.
