The one word that best describes Chantal Meek is magical. Our beloved Chantal Meek passed away on September 30, 2024, at the young age of 44.
Chantal’s life and legacy radiated a profound commitment to helping others. When she was diagnosed in July with Stage 4 Metastatic Adenocarcinoma originating in her colon, she approached it with the same selfless determination. Rather than letting it define her, she used her experience to help others, passionately advocating for early cancer screenings – a way to fulfill her lifelong mission of making a difference in the lives of those she loved.
Born on January 25, 1980, in Colorado, Chantal's luminous spirit effortlessly brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. She had a unique ability to make people feel seen, understood, and cherished. An A+ student and a talented athlete at Colorado Springs High School, her name still shines bright in the gym as a member of the record-holding 4x400 relay team. Chantal’s drive and talent earned her a full Division I soccer scholarship to the University of Richmond in Virginia.
In 2009, Chantal moved to the Idaho Falls area. She met her love, Corey, in 2017. Together, they shared a love filled with laughter, support, and a deep connection that laid the foundation for their home and hobby farm in Rigby, ID. They named it "Tertulia Farm"—a Spanish term meaning a friendly gathering of like-minded people, reflecting her profound love for community. The farm was bustling with beautiful chaos, filled with cherished animals and Chantal’s prized gardens, creating the life she had dreamed for her children.
Chantal was not just a friend to many - she was an unofficial therapist, an advocate for AA, and a steadfast guide to those on their own healing journeys, proudly celebrating over 13 years of sobriety herself. Her command of the English language – both written and spoken – was unparalleled. Chantal’s talents as a writer earned her several awards in short-story contests. Her sharp wit and unfiltered honesty brought joy to all who knew her, often delivered with the perfect mix of sarcasm and heart.
Of all her accomplishments, her greatest pride was her family. Chantal is survived by her loving partner, Corey Cook, and her beautiful children, Ethan, Novienne, Talaiyana, Audric, and Zara, who each carry her magical spirit in their own unique ways.
It was her deepest wish for her children to grow up truly knowing her spirit, and in honoring Chantal’s enduring essence, we warmly invite you to share your memories on her obituary page guestbook. These stories will be lovingly compiled into a keepsake for her children, preserving her magical essence for years to come.
In her spirit of generosity, a trust fund is being established for her children's future, in the meantime please donate to this page and the funds will go directly to Corey to contribute to the kid's financial needs during this time as they face this challenging transition.

Chantal was overwhelmed with the love and support she received over the past few months. She would want nothing more than for that love and support to be transferred to her children.
