To our family and friends,
I’m reaching out to share something deeply personal—my mom, Carla, suffered a serious stroke on Saturday 4/5/25 that has completely changed the course of her life, and ours. It happened suddenly, without warning. One moment she was her usual self—kind, strong, independent, spicy, glamorous, full of love—and the next, everything shifted.
The stroke has affected my mom’s ability to speak and move, and she’s currently in the hospital beginning a long, uncertain road to recovery. My sister Tymari and I are holding onto hope, and she’s fighting hard, but her journey will take time, care, and a lot of support.
My mom is the heartbeat of our family. She’s the one who always shows up—for friends, for family, for anyone who needs a helping hand. Now she needs us, and we’re doing everything we can to be there for her.
As we prepare for her discharge, we recognize that her current living situation won’t be safe for her recovery. We’re in the process of moving to a bigger home that can accommodate her medical needs, which means we also have to terminate her lease early—a costly and unexpected burden on our family. Between medical bills, rehabilitation, home modifications, and relocation costs, the expenses are adding up quickly.
My sister and I started this GoFundMe to help ease the financial strain and make sure my mom gets the care she needs and deserves. Every donation—no matter the size—will make a difference. And if you’re not able to give financially, sharing this page and keeping my mom in your thoughts and prayers means more than we can say.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, generosity, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude and love,
Tyria Garrison and Tymari Noll (both formerly Lockett)
