Stand with Bren Mar: Stop the Data Center
Donation protected
The Bren Mar Community is a vibrant, diverse, close-knit community on the border of Fairfax County and Alexandria, VA. Our community is being targeted by a multi-billion dollar out of state private equity company seeking to force a massive 460,000 sq. ft. and 70 ft. tall data center along with a 5 acre electrical substation (enough to power 40,000 homes!) and transmission lines that will destroy the surrounding environment including two streams.
The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) will decide on December 19th whether to approve the substation and transmission line . A denial at the SCC will derail the data center effort.
While Bren Mar is developing into a thriving mixed use transit accessible community, the Starwood Plaza 500 data center will completely cut off our communities access to these positive developments.
Five community associations that surround the data center are contributing to this effort but our community's voice is being silenced by the financial might of the developer.
Your support is greatly needed to support our legal and advocacy efforts as we fight at the state and local level for our community.
Make sure we have the resources we need and tell the developer that our quality of life and community can't be bought!
