A single social media post should not have the power to destroy a person's livelihood, reputation, and financial security.

Today, we are asking our community to stand with Ashley Jamieson, a Black female attorney, advocate, philanthropist, and generous supporter of women and women-led organizations.

Ashley lost her job following a post on Twitter/X regarding Charlie Kirk. She is now pursuing legal action against the federal government and seeking monetary damages for the harm she alleges she has suffered. As she fights to protect her rights and hold those responsible accountable, she needs our help raising $5,000 to retain legal counsel.

But Ashley is more than what happened to her online.

She is someone who has consistently shown up for others.

Ashley has provided legal advice and support pro bono to Black women and women-led organizations, including people like me. She has used her legal knowledge not only to build her own career, but to help others navigate challenges they could not always afford to face alone. Through her sorority, her friendships, and her community involvement, Ashley has also dedicated her time and energy to philanthropic work and uplifting others.

Now, Ashley needs people to show up for her.

There is a painful reality that many Black women understand all too well: the consequences of mistakes, disagreements, opinions, and public scrutiny can often fall disproportionately hard on us. From classrooms to boardrooms and corporate offices, Black women are frequently expected to be exceptional while receiving little grace when we are imperfect, outspoken, or controversial.

Regardless of where anyone stands on Ashley's tweet or the controversy surrounding it, a tweet was not worth the devastation that followed.

Losing a job can mean losing income, stability, professional opportunities, and peace of mind. Fighting back through the legal system can be expensive, especially when the person on the other side has significantly greater resources.

Ashley should have the opportunity to pursue her case with qualified legal representation and without being financially silenced.

This is a season of fighting back.
