Stand with Arnold: Say No to Chick-fil-A

The Arnold Community is objecting to a proposed Chick-fil-A. It would be built on Route 2 going south towards Annapolis, next to the Sunoco and a private home.
It is proposed to be:
- Drive-thru-ONLY requiring 42 parking spaces!
- There would be a double left turn lane from Arnold Road into the back of CVS. It would take 5 turns around CVS to exit back onto Arnold Road posing many safety concerns. The addition of this CFA would drastically increase vehicle traffic in an area where, as any Arnold resident knows, traffic is already heavy.
- There is no proposed pedestrian or bike access even though it is located right off the B&A trail.
The infrastructure in our community is not ready to handle a new location in this spot. We support CFA, but this is not the right place. There are plenty of empty retail spaces already on RT 50 before the Bay Bridge.

Areas where traffic will be affected:
- Ritchie Hwy Southbound towards Rt 50 and Naval Academy Bridge
- Ritchie Hwy Northbound backing up the left-hand turn to Arnold Road
- Arnold Road
- Impeded access to and from Arnold Station, Pines, and Winchester.
This is the FIRST proposed drive-thru-only not only in Anne Arundel County but in the state of Maryland. This location is a safety concern for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers in this highly trafficked location. The Arnold residents don't want to be the ones who suffer while Chick-fil-A benefits. We support Chick-fil-A, just not here.
