Hello, my name is Annyka Melgar and I am starting this GoFundMe to help my dad. On Monday, July 14 2025 at 6:30 a.m my dad had been stopped by three men. He was leaving the house to go pick my uncle up for work and was later stopped by three Bounty Hunters. They broke both windows of his car WITHOUT any authorization. My dad didn’t resist, he accepted the fact that he was caught and just went along. The bounty hunters held my dad like he was some sort of criminal, aggressively grabbed him by the window, pushed him to the ground, injured his arm and knee and was later turned in to Ice. Once they locked him in the back of the car, they began laughing, LAUGHING at the fact that they had just caught “another immigrant”. This is the type of world we live in. A world filled with fear, cautious, constant worry, and the nerve wrecking gut feeling that people’s loved ones won’t make it back home. We had to borrow 5,000 dollars just to get the lawyer. My aunt has now sold her stove and fridge to gather enough money for my dad. So now my family and I are trying to raise 10,000 to pay that back and to prepare for more legal costs such as bond fees and anything else that comes up as we fight to bring my dad back. He is not a criminal, he is a loving father, a loving spouse , a loving sibling, a caring son, and a genuine person filled with good. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story.
