Stand with Andrew: A Veteran's Struggle

Hi, my name is Christina and I’m raising funds on behalf of my cousin Andrew, a U.S. Marine veteran who has sacrificed so much in service to our country. After multiple deployments, including time in Iraq, Andrew returned home with severe and lasting injuries—both visible and invisible.

He sustained a traumatic brain injury, endured heat stroke, and continues to battle PTSD every single day. These conditions have deeply impacted his ability to navigate daily life, especially in crowds or high-stress situations. Despite all of this, Andrew has remained strong, especially for his kids, who mean everything to him.

For the past 5 years, Andrew has been fighting for veterans like himself—working tirelessly to advocate for mental health support and benefits. But now, he needs help.

Andrew is currently required by the court to undergo a forensic psychological evaluation—something the VA should be helping with, but unfortunately is not. He’s found a qualified neuropsychologist, Dr. Shawna Kirby, who specializes in traumatic brain injuries and PTSD, but the cost of the evaluation and ongoing care is far beyond his means.

This evaluation could be the turning point in Andrew’s fight—not only for his own well-being, but also to continue being the present, loving father his children deserve.

We are raising $ 6,000 to cover:

• The cost of the required psychological evaluation

• Related travel and medical expenses

• Continued mental health support for PTSD and brain injury recovery
